Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage focuses on deeper muscle layers, relieving chronic pain and tension. It stimulates mechanoreceptors, promotes endorphin release, improves mobility and sleep quality. Sessions may be more intensive, but the therapist always works within the client's comfort zone.

What is Deep Tissue Massage?

Deep tissue massage is a specialized massage technique that uses slow, controlled movements and intense pressure to reach the deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. Unlike superficial relaxation massage, deep tissue massage works directly with chronic tension and pain points.

This technique is particularly effective for people suffering from long-term muscle problems or those with specific pain areas that don't respond to conventional massage methods.

How Does Deep Tissue Massage Work?

Mechanoreceptor Stimulation

Deep pressure activates mechanoreceptors in nerve pathways, blocking pain impulse transmission to the brain (gate control theory).

Endorphin Release

Intensive massage stimulates the body's natural "happiness hormone" production, which relieves pain and improves mood.

Fascia Release

Deep work releases the fascia (connective tissue sheaths) surrounding muscles, improving mobility and reducing stiffness.

Improved Circulation

Deep massage increases blood flow to the area, bringing more nutrients and oxygen to tissues.

Which Conditions Does Deep Tissue Massage Help?

Chronic Back Pain
Fibromyalgia
Neck and Shoulder Stiffness
Sciatica
Plantar Fasciitis
Tennis Elbow
Chronic Fatigue
Stress and Anxiety
Sleep Problems
Postural Problems
Muscle Rigidity
Tension Headaches and Migraines

Benefits of Deep Tissue Massage

Chronic Pain Relief

Effective in resolving long-term pain problems, especially in areas where regular massage doesn't help.

Improved Mobility

Releases joint and muscle stiffness, significantly increasing flexibility and range of motion.

Enhanced Sleep Quality

Deep tissue massage stimulates serotonin production, which regulates the sleep-wake cycle.

Stress Reduction

Reduces cortisol levels and increases "feel-good" hormone production, relieving stress and anxiety.

Posture Improvement

Helps correct poor posture by releasing tight muscles and restoring balance.

Cardiovascular Health Support

Improves circulation and may help lower blood pressure, supporting heart health.

Important Information About Intensity

Deep tissue massage may be significantly more intensive than classical massage, but there should be no pain sensation during the session. Our therapists always work within your comfort zone and adjust intensity according to your feedback.

After massage you may feel mild muscle soreness for 24-48 hours, which is normal and shows the massage has been effective. It's recommended to drink plenty of water and avoid intensive physical activity on the first day.

Frequently Asked Questions

Deep tissue massage should not be painful. While it's more intensive than classical massage, the therapist always works within your comfort zone. The goal is deep relaxation and tension release, not causing pain. The therapist regularly asks for feedback and adjusts intensity according to your needs.
Immediately after massage you may feel relaxed and less tense. In the following days, muscle soreness may occur, which is normal. This passes within 24-48 hours and is often followed by significant relief.
This depends on the severity of your condition and goals. For acute problems, you may need sessions once a week initially; for chronic conditions, every 2-4 weeks. The therapist will create an individual plan for you.
Deep tissue massage is not suitable for acute injuries, thrombosis, pregnant women, high blood pressure, osteoporosis, or recent surgeries. Always inform the therapist about your health condition before the session begins.
Drink plenty of water before and after massage. Avoid large meals 2 hours before the session. Come in comfortable clothes and be prepared to discuss your pain problems and expectations. Don't hesitate to give feedback about intensity.
